The article referenced below also has some suggestions for further testing: It may be best to test battery life without using those USB-C hubs for testing purposes. It is certainly possible that the USB-C hubs that you're using are drawing power if they're being used while the MacBook Pro is not plugged in. I understand that the battery life on your MacBook Pro is less than you're expecting, and I'm happy to help. Is this a norm now? Or could that be due to usb-c hubs?īoth at home and at work I am using i-tec usb-c hub which is connected to MBP all the time. Before closing I had around 50 % of battery, which was draind overnight to 7 % this morning. Whats worse - I let my MBP sleep whole night. Designated battery life for MBP is 10 hours so I was thinkning, that 8 hours would be an normal real life value. I know that battery life of MBA and MBP will be different, but for that much? MBA designated battery life is 12 hours, which was a standard for at least 2 years of using a notebook for me. If I do anything else which is more energy consuming, a power supply is in need in about 1,5 hour. New MBP with 28 cycles? About 2-3 hours of easy office work and internet browsing with spotify on. Even with Windows 10 on Parallels I got to around 3-4 hours of battery life. With my 4 years old macbook air with around 800 cycles and original battery I got to about 5-7 hours of office work. I love the display and TB, but I am hugely dissapointed with battery life. I recently updated my Macbook Air " for a brand new Macbook Pro 13" TB 2017.
